“Swurls” are procedurally generated organic forms created by digital artist Chris Marshall.
The base mathematical description for how the Swurls are created is very simple indeed. However, by repeating the process in a procedural way, the results can be surprising and complex in appearance. These shapes are created using the interactive node based module called ICE that sits within Softimage, a 3d animation and effects application more commonly used for VFX in Feature Films.
Swurl images can be generated at any resolution and prints of these are available through our shop link. Should you be interested in prints or other products of any Swurls that are not currently in the shop, please contact us.
